Digital Marketing Lead

About the Role:
As the Digital Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for leading the digital efforts across Liberty Specialty Markets, with a primary focus on driving brand awareness and engagement in the UK and European markets. You will use data-driven insights to optimise projects, streamline processes, and ensure a seamless integration between online and offline activities.
You will work as part of our integrated marketing team and help us drive a digital-first mindset. This is a fixed-term maternity cover contract starting in October. The position offers a great opportunity for a marketing manager or senior marketing manager with digital experience who is ready to take a step up and gain invaluable experience leading digital strategy while developing three talented marketers.
About the Department & Team:
The Marketing & Communications teams are an award-winning, diverse group located across five countries. They work across two business units – Liberty International Insurance and Liberty Mutual Reinsurance, and their associated external brands.
Liberty International Insurance is a business unit which represents all of Liberty's commercial, specialty, and personal lines insurance business outside the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda. This business unit trades under two main brands, Liberty Specialty Markets for our international commercial and specialty business and Liberty Insurance for our retail business in Asia Pacific.
Our Global Reinsurance business, Liberty Mutual Re has over dedicated employees with functional support provided from LII. As at 31 December, it had over $3bn of revenues.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Own and execute core areas of the digital marketing strategy and roadmap to drive best in class practices across all digital channels.
- Work with the team to adopt an omni-channel mindset, with a focus on delivering a consistent user experience.
- Maximise the use of existing content across digital channels to achieve optimal engagement and return on investment.
Campaign Management
- Manage and optimise marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels.
- Maintain consistency of brand messaging and design across all digital platforms.
- Effectively communicate campaign performance and propose data-driven adjustments.
Social Media
- Manage and maintain our social media presence across various channels, collaborating with the marketing team to ensure consistency, optimised engagement, and guarantee best practice.
- Lead the adoption of the employee advocacy tool, Hearsay, with specific teams throughout the business.
- Drive LinkedIn paid advertising strategy, making sure there is rigorous testing in place with regular reporting to look at effectiveness.
Website
- Relationship lead with the external website agency, prioritising enhancements to the external websites.
- Lead the delivery of the website personalisation project alongside the website manager.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate website activities with other digital marketing initiatives.
- Keep up to date of emerging technologies and digital marketing trends to identify opportunities for innovation and growth on the website.
Analytics and Reporting
- Create quarterly global reports and share analysis and insights of digital channels performance with the marketing team and senior leaders every three months.
- Use various analytics tools like Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Power BI, Hotjar, and LinkedIn analytics to gather valuable data.
Line Management and stakeholder management
- Manage and develop Website Manager and Marketing Executives (Job share).
Branding:
- Ensure that corporate identity, branding, compliance, legal and LMIG corporate guidelines and procedures are adhered to across digital and social channels
Budget:
- Responsible for budgets for individual projects
Adherence to relevant regulatory requirements:
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in a marketing / digital marketing, preferably within the financial services/ insurance sector.
- A CIM qualification or equivalent, or currently studying for a CIM or equivalent qualification
- In depth knowledge of various digital platforms, best practices and analytics required
- Solid understanding of CMS systems, preferably Drupal
- Up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in digital marketing
- Self-management, planning and organisational skills. Demonstrates initiative and enthusiasm.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Analysis and decision-making skills
- An ability to build mutually beneficial business relationships with outside agencies
- Commercial and business awareness
