Children's Social Worker Job Description

Medway Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our team. As a Children's Social Worker, you will provide a high-quality and effective professional casework service, taking responsibility for managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision.

You will be responsible for complying with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be competent in all areas of the PCF at Social Worker level and The Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for approved child and family practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a professional casework service, managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision.
  2. Comply with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies and procedures.
  3. Undertake focused, analytical assessments, preparing SMART care plans and reviews that have clear objectives and outcome measures.
  4. Model good practice that reflects a commitment to relationship and strengths-based practice, working collaboratively with children and their families.

Requirements:

  • A degree or master's in Social Work (or any other recognised equivalent qualification).
