In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the engineering team in the Claims department.
Your primary goal will be to ensure that motor vehicles are repaired to their pre-accident condition, using the most appropriate repair methods at the correct cost.
You will work closely with customers, both internal and external, to deliver exceptional quality of service.
The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Desktop Motor Engineer.
You will be responsible for negotiating and agreeing on correct repair methodologies, ensuring costs are accurate.
You will also be responsible for liaising directly with customers, negotiating total loss settlements, and working to agreed timescales and business parameters.
Key Responsibilities- You will have knowledge of modern-day motor vehicle repair, methodology, and complexity.
- You will be able to negotiate and agree on correct repair methodologies, ensuring costs are accurate.
- You will liaise directly with customers, both internal and external, to ensure claims are fulfilled in line with customer demands.
- You will negotiate total loss settlements with policyholders and third-party customers.
- You will work to agreed timescales and business parameters.
- You will have understanding of the new ABI vehicle salvage categorisation Code of Practice.
- You will be self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- You will have ability to make independent decisions.
- You must be accredited to ATA standards of work or working towards accreditation.
- You must have experience in vehicle construction and repair techniques.
- You must have understanding of Bodily Injury and Liability claims.
- You must have competent understanding of insurance principles.
- You must be competent in the use of repair Estimating Systems (Audatex).
