About The Role

Temporary Part-Time Opportunity

EKC Group is seeking a skilled Communication Support Practitioner to join Broadstairs College on a temporary part-time basis. As a Communication Support Practitioner, your role will be to provide British Sign Language signing and learning support to students on programs of study and/or courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide BSL signing support to individuals and/or groups of learners with a hearing impairment
  • Use a range of support strategies to select and adapt tasks, resources, and learning activities
  • Work in conjunction with Inclusive Learning tutors and teaching staff to undertake EHCP In-Year Reviews for students with hearing impairment
  • Attend and support communication in Annual Reviews
Requirements
  • Qualified to minimal level 3 British Sign Language
  • Excellent understanding of the role and impact of additional learning support
  • Ability to nurture positive attitudes to learning and contribute to the development of teaching and learning at EKC Group
  • Experience in working with students with specific medical/feeding needs (full training will be given)
