About the Role

This Behaviour Support role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of young learners in primary schools in Sheffield.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide crucial support to teachers and other staff members in helping students manage their behaviour and attain positive social skills. Creating a safe and conducive learning environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Students with Behavioural Needs: Providing one-on-one and group support to students who require assistance in managing their behaviour.
  • Implementing Behaviour Management Strategies: Implementing effective strategies and interventions to help students develop positive behaviour.
  • Collaborating with Teachers: Working closely with teachers to plan and deliver activities aimed at improving student behaviour.
  • Social and Emotional Development: Supporting the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive relationships and a supportive learning environment.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and behaviour.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistent support for all students.
Requirements
  • Experience Working with Children: Previous experience working with children, particularly in a behaviour support role, is highly desirable.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
  • Patient and Empathetic Approach: A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude is essential for this role.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Effective communication and organisational skills are required to succeed in this position.
  • DBS and Safeguarding: An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply) and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
