About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to support learners with complex needs in Sheffield.

This role is part of our commitment to providing high-quality educational support services to young people.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supporting Learners with High Needs: Remove barriers to learning and promote effective participation for young people with complex needs.
  2. IDentifying Support Needs: Contribute to the identification of support requirements for young people with High Needs.
  3. Key Working: Be a key worker for learners as directed by managers, addressing barriers to accessing learning and supporting bursary applications.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work with others to understand the needs of individual young people and contribute to target setting as part of the EHC process.
  5. Personal Care: Provide personal care, first aid, and medication as appropriate.
  6. Safeguarding and Health and Safety: Ensure all safeguarding and health and safety processes and protocols are in place, adhering to LLS and policies and OFSTED requirements.
  7. Mentoring Relationships: Develop and maintain appropriate mentoring relationships with young people and those engaged with them.
  8. Peer Mentoring: Offer peer mentoring and support to other team members.
Requirements
  • Experience: Working with children with special educational needs in a similar role or transferable role.
  • Attitude: A proactive and positive attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
  • Certification: Enhanced DBS check.
