Senior Project Manager

Galliford Try is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead our Water Frameworks team in Scotland. As a key member of our Environment Business, you will be responsible for delivering projects across the water industry, from treatment waste to water schemes.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage project delivery outputs, including subordinates, programme, financial position, health safety, environmental performance, and progress for all allocated schemes.
- Have a good understanding of NEC contract conditions and an astute commercial awareness.
- Responsible for the management of multiple concurrent projects across the Framework to ensure successful delivery against project KPIs and PI.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental, and quality systems.
- Manage the project team, ensuring each member has clear objectives, roles, and responsibilities.
- Assist the Operations Manager with the utilisation of direct labour resources across projects.
- Assume responsibility for the financial performance of the portfolio of projects, with overall responsibility for profit/loss on contracts under your control.
- Produce project performance reports and participate in monthly financial/programme reviews for all schemes with the Commercial Manager, Head of Construction, and Regional Operations Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all company commercial and financial procedures.
- Complete contract documentation, establish and agree price variations, and final accounts.
- Prepare estimates and quotations and provide tender vetting for governance stages of the projects.
- Ensure a detailed project programme, in conjunction with the project planner, to drive the project to key deliverable milestones.
- Ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions.
- Take an active role in developing new opportunities within the Framework and lead in pre-construction tenders to ensure project delivery input into the tender process.
- Co-ordinate and liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations, and construction teams.
- Ensure that procurement of plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors is carried out in a timely manner and best value is achieved.
- Ensure that project resources are made available to attend/undertake factory site and works testing, commissioning, and client training.
- Ensure all contract documentation, such as 'As built' drawings, Commissioning Manuals, and Operation and Maintenance Manuals, are prepared in line with client specifications and Galliford Try/client closeout timescales.
- IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS) certification.
- CSCS card.
- Demonstrable experience of working within the water and/or sewage industries.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face).
- Ability to review options and be comfortable making the required decisions for project success.
