We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Womenswear Design Assistant to join our dynamic Product & Design Team at Sisters and Seekers. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assisting our Lead Designers and Buying Team in creating innovative and stylish designs for our global customer base.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development of new design concepts and present them to the Lead Designers and Buying Team for review and feedback.
- Create detailed CADs and tech-packs for team and supplier use, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the team to create and update linesheets per collection, showcasing our latest designs and trends.
- Attend fit sessions and provide feedback on new developments, ensuring our designs meet the highest standards.
- Communicate effectively with Suppliers and Manufacturers to track developments, implement design adjustments, and sizing amendments.
- Assist in curating linesheets for B2B presentation, highlighting our unique selling points and brand aesthetic.
- Support the team in offering new product lines on a B2B basis with retail partners, driving business growth and revenue.
- Develop and present ideas for new product lines and product expansion, staying ahead of the curve in the fashion industry.
- Assist in collecting, understanding, and suggesting new fabrics and manufacturing techniques, ensuring our designs are on-trend and of the highest quality.
- Create trend boards and provide trend forecasts on a regular basis, highlighting key styles, vintage references, and design details.
- Develop relevant inspiration boards as needed, showcasing our brand's unique style and aesthetic.
- Assist in repeat pattern and print developments, ensuring our designs are consistent and of the highest quality.
- Organize and maintain samples, swatches, and fabrics in a professional and efficient manner.
- Work under time constraints and meet deadlines, demonstrating a passion for delivering high-quality results.
- Collaborate with the wider creative team to ensure designs align with campaign concepts and overall brand ideas.
- A minimum of a completed Fashion Design Degree at 2:1 or above.
- Experience in a womenswear or menswear design role is desirable, but not required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- The ability to work on-site at our office HQ.
- Evidence of a strong design portfolio, showcasing your creative skills and experience.
- A creative flair with a unique vision and original ideas.
- Excellent knowledge of the brand, customer, and signature aesthetic.
- A keen eye for fashion and style in day-to-day life, with an interest in vintage clothing.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of fabrics and trims.
- A can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative independently.
- The ability to blend and complete tasks within a team, working together with colleagues to deliver exceptional results.
- Confidence to develop, present, and back ideas to a group or team, seeking feedback to develop ideas further.
- Effective project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure in time-sensitive situations.
