About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at TransUnion LLC. As a Data Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering data protection best practices, data governance, and data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure new and existing products/services comply with regulations, particularly the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Support the preparation of risk assessments relating to data use, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs).
- Report on risks, issues, and performance to the Senior Data Privacy Manager.
- Monitor data incidents and assist with investigation and root cause analysis.
- Engage with stakeholders to improve data protection and data governance, ensuring they are adequately supported in their roles as Data Stewards and Data Users.
- Maintain the data asset catalogue.
- Help ensure the use of data assets adheres to the Data Governance Framework, relevant policies, standards, and controls.
- Act as a point of escalation for data governance, data management, data quality, and data use issues, working closely with stakeholders to improve the value of data assets while maintaining compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of the GDPR/Data Protection Act, as well as other relevant legislation and regulations.
- Financial industry experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical business stakeholders.
- Ability to articulate business issues without resorting to technical language.
- Organisation and time management.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge and experience of information life-cycle management.
