Waterhouse-Kern Associates is seeking a seasoned Data Protection Specialist to join their team. This role would be an excellent fit for someone with experience in Start-Ups, particularly in the Tech or FinTech space, and is comfortable working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes monitoring internal data practices, conducting staff training, and performing data protection impact assessments.

The Data Protection Specialist will also serve as the primary point of contact for supervisory authorities and individuals whose data is processed by the organization.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of EU data privacy and data protection regulation, as well as a good understanding of other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide.
  • Sufficient knowledge of information technology and data management systems required.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.

The ideal candidate will have at least one Data Protection and/or Privacy certification, such as CIPP, CIPT, or ISEB. They will also have PQE experience and a proven track record in developing policy and compliance training.
