About the Role:

As a Senior Human Factors Specialist at BAE Systems Submarines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our submarines operate with optimal efficiency and safety. You will lead cross-functional teams to design and develop user interfaces that enhance operator performance, reduce workload, and improve overall situational awareness.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of operator tasks to identify areas for improvement
  • Design and implement solutions to optimize operator performance through effective human-computer interaction
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and conduct user trials to assess and refine developing designs
  • Develop and analyze human-centered design principles to inform decision-making
  • Provide expert support to safety cases by conducting human reliability analyses

Your Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Human Factors/Ergonomics or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven track record of mentoring and coaching others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working on complex engineering projects (desired)
  • Chartered engineer or progressing towards
