About the Role

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be a key member of the William Grant & Sons infrastructure operations team, responsible for delivering projects and BAU work, providing 3rd line support for infrastructure and the business. This role requires a strong technical background, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work on cross-functional projects delivering improvements and enhancements to the estate, utilizing cloud-based technologies such as Azure.
  • Take the lead on projects, ensuring timely delivery, working closely with project managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Create and update technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Provide 3rd level support for infrastructure and business-critical issues, taking ownership of incidents and issues from start to finish.
  • Upskill and mentor other team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in infrastructure and IT, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with other teams, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call and early cover as part of a rotating schedule.
  • Work with a range of technologies, including Azure, VMWare, Veeam, Zerto, Beyond Trust, Nimble, and StoreOnce Storage.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure and IT operations.
  • Experience with Azure and other cloud-based technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.
