Job Title: Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Area Camden. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the children and young people in our care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our residents during nighttime hours. This will involve ensuring their safety and welfare, engaging in activities with them, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be required to communicate effectively with our out-of-hours services and respond to any emergencies that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overnight care and support to residents, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
  • Engage in activities with residents, such as games, crafts, and conversations, to promote their social and emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident activities, including sleep patterns, meals, and any incidents that may occur.
  • Communicate effectively with our out-of-hours services, including our on-call team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents that may arise during nighttime hours, following our established procedures and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, including the ability to identify and report any concerns or incidents.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing support and guidance to colleagues as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, using our established systems and procedures.
