Job Title: Community Ecologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Ecologist to join our team at Carrington West. As a Community Ecologist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of renewable energy projects from conception through to completion.

The Role:

You will conduct ecological assessments, provide advice on mitigation and enhancement, and work closely with planners, engineers, and other environmental specialists to ensure that biodiversity is at the heart of project planning.

  1. Conduct Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and ecological assessments to inform project planning and decision-making.
  2. Provide ecological input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) to ensure that projects are designed and implemented in a way that minimizes harm to the environment.
  3. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. Support in obtaining relevant environmental permits and licenses to ensure that projects can proceed without delay.
  5. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of renewable projects to ensure that biodiversity is at the heart of project planning.
What We're Looking For:
  1. A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  2. Experience in undertaking ecological surveys and assessments.
  3. Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
  4. A passion for sustainability and renewable energy.
  5. Full UK driving license (essential).
