Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our community-based services in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will provide medical leadership for a multidisciplinary mental health team, delivering assessment and treatment for patients with functional and organic illness.

Main Responsibilities

Lead the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent psychiatric care
Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans
Lead weekly MDT meetings and ensure prompt reviews of acutely unwell patients
Work closely with CRHTT OP, community teams, and liaison services as patients move between these teams

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will have a key role in developing links with the wider MDT and with colleagues in primary care.

Person Specification

Essential
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register
  • MRCPsych (or equivalent)
  • S12/ AC approved
  • CCT in relevant specialty
Desirable
  • MD or PhD
Experience

Essential
  • Experience of working in a community-facing team
Desirable
  • Experience of research and service development
  • Clinical training and experience in delivery of psychotherapy modalities
Skills/Ability/Knowledge

Essential
  • First-hand experience of developing services in a constantly changing environment and to budgetary restraints would be an advantage.
  • Candidates need to be effective teachers and trainers and be able to guide their own continuing education and training.
