Support Services Assistant Job Description

We are recruiting for a Support Services Assistant to join our Housekeeping team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety throughout our hospitals.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in housekeeping or a related field, with knowledge of cleaning and COSHH procedures. You will be required to work independently with minimal supervision, using your initiative to prioritize tasks and manage your workload effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our wards and other patient areas.
  • Using a range of modern cleaning equipment to ensure effective cleaning and infection control.
  • Following established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Diluting cleaning chemicals and following COSHH procedures to minimize risks.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and COSHH procedures.
  • NVQ Level 2 Support Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible approach to change and a willingness to learn.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £23,615 per annum (£9,446 pro rata for part-time) and a comprehensive benefits package, including ongoing opportunities for career advancement and progression.
