Job Description

At Sage, we're seeking a Data Migration Lead to join our transformational programme team, responsible for ensuring the quality migration of data between systems. This role involves leading data identification, cleansing, mapping, and transformation processes, overseeing testing and quality checks to ensure accurate transfers. As a Data Migration Lead, you'll also support teams in embedding new ways of working and provide hypercare to ensure data is used correctly. Working across multiple projects, including ERP and revenue reporting data migrations, you'll drive continuous improvement in data quality and management efficiency. You'll be supported by an analyst to ensure seamless project execution.

This is a 2-year secondment opportunity based out of our Newcastle office.

Key Responsibilities

As the Data Migration Lead, you will create and implement data migration strategies, overseeing end-to-end planning and execution. You will lead a small data analyst team and matrix teams to deliver migration activities, developing solutions and tools to support the process. Key responsibilities include cleansing, identifying, mapping, and transforming data for accurate system integration, along with conducting data reconciliation and testing. You'll ensure quality assurance throughout the migration, liaising with Internal Audit for validation. Additionally, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data controls and management across systems, driving efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

We're looking for someone with expertise in finance processes, including chart of accounts mapping, DOA setup, fixed assets, supplier, and trial balance data. You will have strong data management skills, covering mapping, quality assurance, and governance, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Attention to detail is crucial, along with experience using ETL tools to support migration. As a strong collaborator and communicator, you will lead migration execution, coordinating with global colleagues across time zones. Flexibility for travel to non-UK Sage offices is required. Experience with financial data and ERP platforms (SAP, Sage X3) is a plus.
