Devon County Council is seeking two Full-Time Highway Asset Maintenance Specialists, predominantly based in the Teignbridge area and/or the Exeter/Eastern area of the County. The role involves the ongoing management and maintenance of Devon's highway assets, working as part of a team to best understand community needs when planning and delivering highway maintenance schemes.
- The position requires the design and pricing of highway maintenance schemes, including drainage, patching, resurfacing, and footway works using Term Maintenance and Framework Contracts.
- Contractor and Stakeholder engagement to assist in the planning and delivery of highway maintenance schemes.
- Auditing highway maintenance schemes, including identifying and resolving remedial works as may be evident.
- Reviewing, managing, and approving payments for highway maintenance schemes.
- A working knowledge of appropriate highway policies and procedures.
- An awareness of technical developments and good working practice.
- The ability to review and manage highway maintenance schemes, ensuring they are delivered within budget and to the required standards.
Based on national averages, the estimated salary range for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
