Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of rail grinding and milling operations. This will involve driving and route conducting various types of rail grinding and milling machines, as well as other OTM plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rail operations and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Drive and route conduct rail grinding and milling machines safely and effectively
* Report any machine defects to the Grinding Supervisor and/or Maintenance Supervisor, as necessary
* Work safely and effectively to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures
* Assist in maintaining quality systems and stabling database by monitoring, reviewing, and making recommendations for updating, as required
* Undertake route learning and refreshing, as necessary, and maintain and expand route knowledge base
* Drive all other OTM plant, including rail milling machines and tampers
* Keep all routes current via the Colas Rail route app

SHEQ Responsibilities

* Work to applicable Safety Plans and Method Statements
* Comply with Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
* Submit Close Calls and safety conversations, as per procedure

Competencies Required

* Ability to drive all types of rail grinding and milling machines, as well as other OTM plant
* Driving Licence
