Clinical Haematology Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our Haematology Day Unit team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with haematological conditions.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be well-supported by our team of Haematology Consultants, Specialist Registrars, and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Provide high-quality care to patients with haematological conditions, including sickle cell and thalassaemia, haemophilia, clotting disorders, and iron deficiency anaemia.
- Participate in the management of haemoglobinopathy patients using Automated Exchange Transfusion.
- Administer daily, routine blood transfusions, automated exchange transfusions, iron infusions, and other treatments prescribed by the specialist Consultants.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient and responsible use of resources.
- Understand the need for vigilance and adherence to Trust and national policies regarding blood products, Haemoglobinopathies, and other clinical haematology conditions.
- Act as an example and mentor for colleagues and students.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Able to manage the care of a group of patients and be aware of the escalation process of an unwell patient.
- Ability to reflect on practice and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Knowledge of current professional issues and evidence of positive contribution to the ward team.
