Physiotherapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Intermediate Care Rehabilitation Beds. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will be clinically responsible for a designated caseload of patients/clients based in our community units. Your primary goal will be to deliver rehabilitation and ongoing care to patients with complex medical histories, including fractures, frailty, respiratory issues, cardiac conditions, amputations, and neurology problems.
Main Duties:
- Deliver evidence-based rehabilitation plans, taking into account the management options available.
- Work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff to provide therapy and nursing input into 92 beds based within different care homes throughout the City.
- Apply clinical reasoning skills and specialist knowledge of physiological processes with neurological, musculoskeletal/Orthopaedic conditions and be able to recognize when a patient may need onward referral.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- BSc in Physiotherapy
- Current HPC Registration
- Evidence of Post-Graduate training relevant to Intermediate Care within the NHS
- Teaching and education certification
- Significant experience in a range of clinical settings, including orthopaedics, neurology, general medical, and respiratory
- Significant experience of working with older people in the above settings
The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of Intermediate Care Services within the NHS and demonstrate strong leadership and team-working skills. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
Working ConditionsThis is a permanent position with flexible working hours, offering a salary of £37,338 to £44,962 per annum (pro rata for part-time staff). The contract includes a comprehensive benefits package, including access to continuing professional development opportunities.
