Job Title: Senior Engineer - Naval Shock and Dynamics

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Shock and Dynamics team, responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of our submarines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Principal Engineers in setting sub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shock requirements
  • Manage verification, validation, and qualification evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirements
  • Develop design justification documentation
  • Assess structures and equipment subjected to naval shock load cases
  • Provide design guidance at design reviews
  • Undertake peer review checking activities
  • Support physical shock test activities

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEM degree)
  • Knowledge of undertaking structural design calculations
  • Understanding of material strength properties and limits
