We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) initiatives within Coveris. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading European packaging company that manufactures flexible and sustainable solutions for respected brands.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement policies and procedures for HSE management in the Paper business, collaborating with the UK SHE Regional Director for support and guidance.
  2. Establish a robust internal auditing process to ensure compliance with Group standards and legislative requirements.
  3. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments, and Safe System of Work (SSOW) for all activities on site.
  4. Ensure alignment with corporate standards, policies, and UK legislative requirements, working closely with the UK SHE Regional Director.
  5. Maintain awareness of current and potential requirements, developing policies in a timely manner.
  6. Organize training for staff in relevant HSE areas, Fire Control, and associated procedures, as well as new training designed by Group if deemed necessary.
  7. Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate improvement across manufacturing and office-based departments.
  8. Audit existing procedures, assess corrective actions, and conduct risk assessments.
  9. Provide support in incident/accident investigations and breaches of compliance, rolling out necessary training and monitoring near misses.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a relevant role, preferably in a manufacturing environment (packaging)
  • NEBOSH Certification or Diploma Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Track record of improvement for HSE policies
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Familiarity with Process Improvement knowledge, including ISO 14001
  • Excellent communication skills at all times
  • Strategic and innovative thinker
  • Organized and calm under pressure
  • Friendly, approachable, and flexible – a team player
  • Professional with high influencing skills
  • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic – demonstrates a 'can do' attitude
  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Travel may be required; therefore, a current, clean driving license is an advantage
  • Computer literate with Microsoft packages
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
