Job Summary
Murphy is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our award-winning team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a key role in implementing and promoting best practices in environmental and sustainability matters within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and promote best practices in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory provisions.
- Investigate incidents and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collect and submit environmental and sustainability statistics to the SHES Management and SHES function.
- Review SHES information to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop and implement SHES campaigns and improvement plans.
- Provide advice and support to project teams on environmental and sustainability responsibilities.
- Identify significant SHES issues for contracts and yards, and help set up contracts and yards to include appropriate controls.
- Maintain records to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.
Requirements
- Experience in an environmental advisory role.
- Qualified with an environmental degree.
- Working knowledge of environmental law in the construction industry.
- Construction/infrastructure experience.
- Working towards IEMA is desirable.
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001, 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
