Job Title: Compliance Manager

GEM Environmental Building Services is a rapidly expanding, London-based SME delivering mechanical and electrical services for both the public and private sector. We provide a variety of services from one-off installations and servicing, to capital investment schemes and planned preventative maintenance programs with an emergency call-out service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Under the direction of SHEQ Management Personnel, the Compliance Manager will oversee the implementation and maintenance of the company's SHEQ management system to ensure compliance and ongoing ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to be part of our SHEQ Management Team. This role focuses on driving quality and environmental compliance across our organization while promoting safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the SHEQ Management Team to implement quality and environmental initiatives.
  • Monitor and update the Corrective Action & Improvement log, ensuring timely closure of entries.
  • Assist in analyzing SHEQ data and reporting for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct internal audits and site inspections, supporting external ISO assessments.
  • Maintain Compliance Registers and communicate relevant changes to departments.
  • Manage the external resources register and ensure compliance with annual reviews.
  • Oversee the maintenance of company accreditation certificates and arrange renewals.
  • Support environmental incident investigations and waste management practices.
  • Produce quarterly Environmental Reports and monitor waste collection compliance.
  • Maintain Document and Records Control Procedures.
  • Participate in management review meetings and implement action plans.
  • Undertake additional duties to enhance departmental effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar or senior administrative role.
  • Strong interest in quality and environmental management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing.
  • Results-driven with a practical approach.
  • Integrity and professionalism are essential.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001 Management Systems is a plus.
  • Environmental Management Certificate (NEBOSH or equivalent) is desirable.
