Merchandise Planning Director Role

The Global Search Company is seeking an experienced Merchandise Planning Director to lead our merchandising team in London.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies to drive sales and profitability, analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth, and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability and minimize stock-outs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing and implementing effective merchandising strategies
  2. Analyzing sales data to inform business decisions
  3. Managing inventory levels to optimize stock levels and reduce waste
  4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement promotional campaigns
  5. Monitoring competitor activity and adjusting strategies accordingly
  6. Working closely with buying teams to ensure product assortments align with customer demand
  7. Mentoring and managing a team of merchandising assistants
Requirements
  • Experience in merchandising management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience in the fashion or retail industry preferred
