A leading UK Charity / NFP is looking for an experienced Safeguarding Officer to manage all aspects of Safeguarding (Children & Adults), plus H&S processes & procedures.

This is a permanent role, working 21 hours across a 5-day working week (flexibility with the working hours).

  1. H&S - risk assessments, policies, procedures, risk register across staff, volunteers & practitioners.
  2. Safeguarding - ensure robust processes, cover all safeguarding issues / risks, ensure staff are following legislation.

Ideal candidates will have experience of ISO 45001 / HSG 65 (creation, implementation & maintenance) with demonstrable experience of setting up and maintaining health & safety processes and procedures.

You will have a solid understanding of current Health & Safety legislation, plus ideally you will have experience in Accident Investigation Training (not a must have), you will also have experience of developing & improving risk assessments, as well as safe operating procedures (SOPs), systems, data flows, control measures, plus reporting.

From a safeguarding perspective, you will be experienced in working with & communicating effectively with relevant agencies / governing bodies, along with implementing & encouraging professional safeguarding practices.

You will be managing any safeguarding concerns / issues relating to both children & adults.

Requirements:
  1. Experience in a Compliance role, involving Safeguarding, plus H&S processes & procedures.
  2. Ideal candidates will have some previous exposure to the Charity / Not for Profit / 3rd Sector (ideal, not a must have).
  3. Recognised Occupational Health & Safety training, e.g., NEBOSH Certificate (preferably at Diploma level / L6).
  4. Professional membership of IOSH - (minimum Graduate level).
  5. Ability to work remotely from your home, ideally with a home office you can work from comfortably.
  6. Willingness to work 21 hours per week, over a 5-day working week (the Charity needs daily cover operationally).
  7. Readiness to start ASAP.

This is a fully remote role, so you can be a Compliance professional living anywhere in the UK.

The salary for this position is approximately £48,000-£58,000 per year, depending on your experience.
