Palliative Medicine Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Medicine Specialist to join our team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Palliative Medicine Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessment and management in palliative medicine for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Work collaboratively with palliative care consultants to ensure the provision of high-quality palliative care consistent with national and Northern England Clinical Strategic Network standards and guidelines.
  • Support the care of patients in acute hospitals and provide high-quality, flexible, and responsive medical support, assessment, and care.
  • Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team, patients' families, primary healthcare teams, hospital services, and other specialist palliative care teams.
  • Participate in teaching and educational activities to support the development of healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • MB ChB or equivalent qualification.
  • Higher medical qualification.
  • Diploma in Palliative Medicine.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant full-time equivalent postgraduate training.
  • Experience in treating primary and secondary malignant disease, and symptoms in non-malignant conditions.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £59,175 to £95,400 per annum, pro rata, and a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
