Palliative Medicine Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Medicine Specialist to join our team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Palliative Medicine Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex needs.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing clinical assessment and management in palliative medicine, working collaboratively with palliative care consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessment and management in palliative medicine
  • Work collaboratively with palliative care consultants and other healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the needs of patients with complex conditions
  • Participate in teaching and educational activities to support the development of healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development of palliative care services and policies
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Palliative Medicine Specialist who possesses excellent clinical and communication skills. You will have a strong understanding of palliative care principles and practices, and be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Essential qualifications include MB ChB or equivalent, Higher medical qualification, and Diploma in Palliative Medicine. You will also have relevant full-time equivalent postgraduate training and experience in treating primary and secondary malignant disease, and symptoms in non-malignant conditions.
