About the Role

HMRC is seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a Direct Tax Professional, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate HMRC's engagement on tax issues with large and complex customers.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of complex cases, identifying potential risks and areas of business non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement effective compliance strategies to ensure customers adhere to regulations.
  • Investigate multiple business and individual networks, designed to hide fraud, tackling fraudulent behaviour and/or poor compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Must hold a qualified Tax Professional qualification, such as Chartered Tax Adviser CIOT or AIIT.
  • Substantial and demonstrable knowledge of Direct Tax compliance principles and regulations.
  • Recent demonstrable compliance experience working on the most complex Direct Tax issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex Direct Tax issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
