Residential Childcare Support Worker

Leaving Care Solutions is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a responsive, customized, and quality service to young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
- Work in line with person-centered risk assessments, support plans, and liaise with support workers to provide a full handover.
- Observe any change in behavior, ensuring appropriate actions are documented and report changes in support needs of any young person.
- Maintain positive working relationships with young people, staff, and professionals by communicating effectively at all times.
- Ensure continuous support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff, with particular focus on the safety of vulnerable people.
- Liaise with external agencies, such as police and Emergency Duty Team (EDT).
- Support young people who need to attend the hospital or police station.
- Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable.
- Flexibility in availability, as the role will include weekend work.
- Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- Be willing to travel, with a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Resilience and ability to deal with challenging and diverse behaviors positively.
- Strong self-awareness and commitment to acting as a positive role model.
- Strong sense of personal accountability.
- Motivation to achieve excellence and passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential.
