Job Overview

At Segula Technologies Canada, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Release Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, validation, timing, and production release of the Hard and Soft Trim systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Component Design and Development

Design, develop, and package components to meet vehicle functional objectives.

  1. Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) Testing

Develop and execute Design Verification Plans and Reports to ensure component functionality and quality.

  1. Change Management

Manage changes to components, including documentation and communication with stakeholders.

  1. Bill of Material Maintenance

Ensure accurate and up-to-date bill of materials for components.

  1. Prototype and Production Build Support

Support prototype and production builds, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.

  1. Issues Management

Identify, analyze, and resolve issues related to components.

  1. CAD Model Management in Teamcenter

Manage CAD models in Teamcenter, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  1. Weight Reduction, Cost Reduction, and Efficiency Improvement Initiatives

Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing weight, cost, and improving efficiency.

  1. Communicating Technical Product Status to Management

Communicate technical product status to management, ensuring timely and accurate updates.

  1. Supporting Vehicle Assembly Plants for Product Technical Issues

Support vehicle assembly plants with technical issues related to components.

  1. Supporting Service Teams for Field Warranty Issues

Support service teams with field warranty issues related to components.

  1. Root Cause Analysis of Failures

Conduct root cause analysis of failures related to components.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent

A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program.

  1. 3-5 Years of Relevant Engineering Experience

3-5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.

  1. Experience with Design and Development of Components

Experience designing and developing 2-3 of the following: Restraints, inj. mold plastics, seat structures/mechanisms, lighting, and/or interior system integration.

  1. Experience with Injection Molding, Painting, and Decorating Plastic Components

Experience with injection molding, painting, and decorating plastic components.

  1. Experience with OEM or Supplier Design and Release

Experience with OEM or supplier design and release.

  1. Experience with NX, Catia V5, and Teamcenter

Experience with NX, Catia V5, and Teamcenter.

  1. Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R Creation and Execution

Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) creation and execution.

  1. Experience with Component Builds and Execution

Experience with component builds and execution, including production process feasibility and development.
