We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our R&D team at Revvity in Cambridge, UK. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of novel cell line derived reference materials, leveraging their expertise in genetics, oncology, and diagnostics.

As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for independently running multiple projects, providing scientific guidance to junior colleagues, and applying your knowledge and problem-solving skills to influence research. You will work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, conducting high-quality and complex research while staying aware of external developments in oncology and neonatal testing.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, plan, analyze, and troubleshoot research projects with strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data in context of wider project.
  2. Contribute to the development of new offerings and influence research strategy of the department, developing innovative solutions in relation to reference materials.
  3. Design and perform experiments independently with minimal supervision, in accordance with project plans.
  4. Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot, discuss results, identify next steps, and escalate key data.
  5. Contribute to ideas and help shape future project direction.
  6. Prepare high-quality data packages, reports, conference presentations, etc., clearly disseminating results of work to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  7. Maintain awareness of current techniques/technologies and apply them to develop reference materials.
  8. Be an effective team member in supporting research and development functions in Revvity.

Essential Competencies & Requirements

  1. A Ph.D. in a relevant field (such as cell biology/genetics/molecular biology or a closely related field) with minimum 5 years post-doc or industry experience.
  2. Experience with DNA/RNA and molecular biology technologies including NGS.
  3. Extensive cell culture experience.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Excellent troubleshooting and ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities.

Desirable Competencies & Requirements

Experience working within ISO or GMP regulations.
