Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Abuse Investigator to join our Public Protection Unit (PPU) in West Midlands Police. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced transferees and aspiring investigators who want to make a real difference in the lives of children and families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating various child abuse offences, including neglect, physical and emotional abuse, and sexual exploitation. They will work closely with partners, particularly Children's Services, to safeguard victims and families, protecting some of the most vulnerable members of society.

This role requires strong leadership skills, developed through experience in investigative work. The position involves working on high-profile cases, ensuring justice for victims, and collaborating with multi-agency teams to achieve extraordinary results.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must be substantive in the rank of Constable, serving or have served with a Home Office Force, PIP 2 accredited, or willing to undertake the accreditation process. They must also be able to provide a fully auditable training record, pass necessary vetting and medical health screening, and have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £40,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include flexible and part-time working arrangements, as well as opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
