Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at an all-through specialist school in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. As a key member of the support staff, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualized support to students with special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities in year 8 and 9.
- Assisting with planning and delivering lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Helping develop and implement individual health and care plans (EHCPs) and behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
- Offering emotional and behavioural support to help students develop positive coping mechanisms.
Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
- A good understanding of different types of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A caring and patient attitude towards children and young people.
