**Overview of the Project**

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Choreographer to work with Lothian Youth Dance Company (LYDC) on a week-long residency in April 2025. This project aims to provide LYDC company dancers with an insight into the development and delivery of a performance piece, while also supporting a Scotland-based choreographer to develop their practice working with young people.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a cohort of 17 young dancers to create an ensemble performance piece of 6-10 minutes in duration. The performance will be shared with the public on day five of the residency week and at Dance Base's summer show.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £1416 per week, based on industry standards and location.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with young people
  • Inclusive, person-centred approach to working with young people from various backgrounds
  • Practice rooted in contemporary dance
  • Ability to collaborate with the LYDC team and provide clear guidance to the dancers
