Job Opportunity
We are seeking a choreographer to work with Lothian Youth Dance Company (LYDC) for a week-long residency.

The choreographer will create a new ensemble performance piece of 6-10 minutes in length, working with a cohort of 17 young dancers. They will lead daily classes and creative sessions to develop the piece. The choreographer will also collaborate with LYDC lead teacher Katie Miller and coordinator MC Laffitte on rehearsals notes, costumes, and lighting ideas.

Requirements:
  • Be currently full-time residents in Scotland.
  • Have demonstrable experience of working with young people.
  • Have an inclusive, person-centred approach to working with young people from various backgrounds.
  • Have a practice rooted in contemporary dance.

Additional Details
  • The residency week will be Monday - Friday, where the choreographer will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and experience.
  • The successful candidate will receive a salary of £1416, providing a competitive rate for this unique opportunity.
