Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our team at The Westin London City. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and technical skills, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure that company maintenance service standards are met and exceeded.
  • Support the engineering team in executing the hotel's Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule for rooms, public areas, machinery, and plant rooms.
  • Establish and maintain good lines of communication with all departments and contractors.
  • Ensure that all contractors and engineering staff adhere to the standard work safety procedures as per the company Health & Safety Management system and current legislation.
  • Procure engineering materials and services using the hotel's procurement system to minimize any downtime of affected equipment or area, and ensure minimum stock levels are kept for consumables.
  • Provide technical support where required to engineers, all departments, and contractors.
  • Day-to-day management of the engineering team, ensuring they are adequately trained and equipped to carry out their jobs effectively and in compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Attend meetings as and when required, and share relevant information with the engineering team.
  • Be available to cover the work of a shift engineer in an emergency, or where there is no minimum coverage. Additionally, the Engineering Supervisor will be available when called to the hotel in case of any Engineering Emergency.

Requirements

  • Forward thinking and promotes new ideas.
  • Working knowledge of building management systems (BMS).
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management systems.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety and compliance.
  • Oral and written fluency in English. Additional language will be considered a plus.
  • Proficient in using computers.
  • A hands-on approach and can-do attitude.
  • Commitment to our values and beliefs.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience of working in a hotel or residential building is preferable.
  • A Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or building services engineering qualification is required.
