Job Title: Youth Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Youth Worker to join our team at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Tameside. This full-time role begins in October and will run until the end of the academic year, offering the possibility of a permanent position depending on performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students, helping them overcome personal, social, and academic challenges.
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans for students, addressing their specific needs and circumstances.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to provide a comprehensive support network for students.
  • Lead and facilitate activities and workshops aimed at promoting students' personal development, social skills, and emotional well-being.
  • Assist students in setting and achieving personal goals, encouraging positive behavior and attitudes.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the school's safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Contribute to the school's wider pastoral care strategy, participating in staff meetings and training as required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or similar setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate young people.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to success.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to promoting the welfare of students.
  • Relevant qualifications in youth work, education, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
