Head of Pharmacy Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Pharmacy Operations to join our team at Aspect Healthcare, a leading community pharmacy provider in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist to take on a leadership role and make a real impact on patient care.

Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum, with potential bonuses up to 30% of salary.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating the pharmacy services strategy into a business plan that delivers safe and efficient operations, complying with all regulations and quality management systems (QMS). They will lead and drive clinical governance with key stakeholders, including the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), and Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a departmental vision that aligns with the company's overall strategy;
  • Leading and managing a team of pharmacists and support staff to deliver exceptional patient safety and care;
  • Collaborating with regulatory bodies and NHS clients to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
  • Proactively managing stakeholder relationships and building strong partnerships;
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing pharmacy practice in the UK;

To succeed in this role, you will need to have significant experience dealing with clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management. You should also have a strong understanding of specialist therapy areas or complex drug therapies, such as oncology, rheumatology, renal medicine, or parenteral nutrition. Additionally, you will need to be commercially astute and able to translate strategy into operational working plans.
