We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer Specialist to join our team of 19 sonographers who work across General and Obstetrics departments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with 12 cross-site Ultrasound Radiology Assistants and contribute to the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to half a million people living or visiting East Sussex.

The ideal candidate will be able to perform a comprehensive range of examinations, including general abdominal, obstetric, gynaecology, paediatrics, vascular, small parts, head and neck, and breast ultrasound. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The salary for this position is approximately £38,692 - £44,541 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a pension scheme, and a supportive working environment.

Job Responsibilities

The Diagnostic Sonographer Specialist will be responsible for performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including routine scans and complex procedures. They will also be expected to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and contribute to the development of the department's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • BSc (hons) Diagnostic Radiography/DCR or equivalent in a health-related specialty midwifery, nursing
  • Postgraduate qualification in Ultrasound (PG Dip or DMU)
  • HCPC or RCN Registration
  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience in Ultrasound
  • Ability to perform a comprehensive range of examinations, including general abdominal, obstetric, gynaecology, paediatrics, vascular, small parts, head and neck, and breast ultrasound
