Job Description:

We are seeking a Route Optimization Specialist to join our team in Daventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing a designated region of our client's commercial vehicle fleet, working towards carefully defined transport budgets and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage drivers & subcontractors remotely, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication.
  • Produce and deliver a daily fleet schedule by depot, optimising routes and reducing costs.
  • Review and develop the work volumes and fleet resource requirements, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with depot operations management to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with other day-to-day operational duties and problem-solving, providing support to the team as needed.
  • Provide a high level of professional service to ensure that orders are fulfilled and excellent customer service is provided at all times.
  • Reporting to the Transport Supervisor and Office Managers.
  • Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in managing and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, flexible, and adaptable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced office environment, and cope with pressurised circumstances.
  • Experienced at managing and developing different relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office package skills.
  • Experience of Transport Planning, preferably within the recycling industry.
  • Experience of KPI reporting to explain performance and target areas for improvement.

Salary: £29,000 per annum.
