About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Consultant to join our team at Kainos. As a Data Consultant, you will play a key role in helping our clients unlock the value of their data and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Articulate the opportunity and value of data-driven solutions to stakeholders
  • Facilitate the analysis and design of data solutions that impact users worldwide
  • Direct teams, encourage engagement, and facilitate consensus in areas of uncertainty
  • Plan and run workshops to engage with stakeholders and facilitate decision-making
Requirements
  • Understand and articulate the value of data in line with business goals
  • Advise customers on improving data maturity and identify compelling data opportunities
  • Work with data technology SMEs and sales teams to define and shape go-to-market offerings
  • Sustain key customer relationships with decision-makers, including CxO
  • Familiar with trends in data science and engineering, including techniques, competitors, partners, and technology trends
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of helping win new business
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with a wide range of people
  • Extensive experience of business analysis in data-intensive technical environments
  • Broad business and technology understanding of the Data & AI landscape and industry trends
  • Excellent facilitation skills, able to lead stakeholder groups to achieve focused outcomes
  • Accomplished at modeling as-is and to-be business processes and data management processes
  • Experience in stakeholder management, comfortable challenging decisions and tailoring collaboration and communication styles
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering as part of an agile team
  • Responsible for the breakdown of an area of work from inception through to delivery, managing the team's backlog ensuring quality and maturity
  • Responsible for the elicitation of functional, technical, and non-functional requirements, translating these into user stories
  • Proven ability to manage scope to meet the required MVP, ensuring value is delivered
  • Good commercial awareness, always delivering within project constraints
  • Able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines
  • Experience working in a client/supplier relationship, sensitive to their needs
  • Experience contributing to sales activities, such as working on bids and writing sales proposals
  • Strong team skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
Desirable
  • Data Architecture or Analytics background with an understanding of modern enterprise architecture patterns
  • Domain experience in Financial Services or Insurance
  • Experience of working on client site, delivering high-quality digital products
  • Experience designing AI/ML products
  • Demonstrated ability in managing, mentoring, and coaching members of your team and wider community
  • Active participant in communities of interest, such as online groups and speaking at conferences
