Job Title: Customs Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Specialist to join our team at DSV. As a key member of our customs compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of goods into and out of the UK, while maintaining compliance with all relevant customs regulations and controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct customs compliance audits and provide feedback to our divisions
  • Create and distribute monthly audit reports
  • Arrange clearance of goods into the UK and issue customs clearance instructions to agents
  • Manage transit holds, cancellations, and undischarged transits
  • Provide customs support across our divisions
  • Log and action HMRC correspondence, including statistical queries
  • Manage user access for customs software and Government Gateway
  • Approve requests to use DSV's Excise Movement Guarantee
  • Support the issuance of security access cards
  • Maintain all supporting customs documentation and complete relevant HMRC returns
  • Assist with HMRC, HM Government, and corporate/internal audits
Requirements:
  • Experience in a trade compliance, customs compliance, or freight forwarding role
  • Knowledge of customs regulations
  • Experience in customs entries and customs warehouse management
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and KPIs
  • Excellent communication skills
