Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Lead to join our team at DSV. As a key member of our Customs Compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods into and out of the UK.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Customs Compliance Managers in supporting all 3 divisions (Road, Air & Sea and Solutions) within DSV in all levels of customs activity.
  • Supervise security access to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors.
  • Drive a high level of customs compliance and ensure that all DSV customs compliance policies are adhered to.
  • Complete customs compliance audit activity and provide feedback to the 3 DSV divisions.
  • Arrange clearance of goods into the UK as appropriate, issuing full customs clearance instructions to the agent.
  • Provide technical customs support across the 3 DSV divisions, with a focus on Customs Warehousing and Special Procedures.
  • Manage user access for customs software and Government Gateway.
  • Approve requests to use DSV's Excise Movement Guarantee.
  • Ensure that import and/or export permits/licences are in place to allow for the smooth movement of goods into and out of the UK.
  • Maintain all supporting customs documentation for import and export consignments, completing all relevant HMRC returns.
  • Assist with all relevant HMRC, HM Government and corporate/internal audits as required.
  • Provide customs internal training to the DSV divisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance or freight forwarding, logistics, import/export orientated role.
  • Knowledge of Customs regulations.
  • Experience in customs entries.
  • Customs Warehouse experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and KPIs.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
