Job Title: Customs Compliance Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Lead to join our team at DSV. As a Customs Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that all customs compliance policies are adhered to, and that our company remains compliant with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completion of customs compliance audit activity and provide feedback to the 3 DSV divisions
  • Arranging clearance of goods into the UK as appropriate – issuing full customs clearance instructions to the agent (including Commercial Couriers) to allow for the goods' timely clearance into the UK and where necessary, authorizing payment/suspension of applicable duties/taxes
  • Providing technical customs support across the 3 DSV divisions with preference, Customs Warehousing and Special Procedures
  • Key responsible person for management and issuance of security access cards, including the onboarding of new DSV sites
  • Managing user access for customs software and Government Gateway
  • Approve requests to use DSVs Excise Movement Guarantee
  • Ensuring that, where required, any import and/or export permits/licences are in place to allow for the smooth movement of goods into and out of the UK
  • Maintaining all supporting customs documentation for import and export consignments, completing all relevant HMRC returns, where required
  • Assisting with all relevant HMRC, HM Government and corporate/internal audits as required
  • Provision of customs internal training to the DSV divisions

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance or freight forwarding, logistics, import/export orientated role
  • Knowledge of Customs regulations (desirable)
  • Experience in customs entries (essential)
  • Customs Warehouse experience (desirable)
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and KPIs
  • Willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
