National Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a skilled Nuclear Materials Specialist to join their team at the Active Handling Facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing our understanding of nuclear fuels and informing safe future reactor operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • The preparation of high-quality metallographic samples for examination.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping practices are followed at all times.
  • Keeping detailed records of experimental data, both hard and electronic.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety, Quality and Security requirements as stipulated by NNL and project partners.
  • Providing support to equipment maintenance, modification, and commissioning.
  • Demonstrating experience working within an industrial environment and delivering work to time, cost, and quality.
  • Highlighting enthusiasm for upholding high technical quality standards.
  • Maintaining SC level security clearance (identity, employment, financial, and criminal record checks plus 5 years' UK residency).

We estimate that this position will have a salary of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include a competitive pension scheme, health insurance, and opportunities for professional development.
