Job Description

Salary: £95 per day (full-time, term-time only)

Location: Chorlton (M21)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Worker/Mentor to work with students in a Pupil Referral Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with pupils, utilizing mentoring skills to help individuals engage with education, and supporting pupils in both the classroom and out-of-classroom settings on a vocational basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children and young adults, preferably in SEMH or PRU settings. A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred, along with GCSE Maths and English and computer literacy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar setting/SEMHEducational background: BEd, PGCE, or relevant qualifications
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years
