**NEETS Outreach Worker**

**Salary: From £24,000 per annum**

**Permanent Role - Based in Regional Office across Greater Manchester**

Our Youth Services programme is working in line with a government led initiative to offer a unique opportunity for young people not in employment, education or training across the Greater Manchester region to support them in the next stages of adulthood.

As our newly appointed Outreach Worker, you will raise programme awareness in Greater Manchester of the NEETs contract. The Outreach worker will actively work to generate starts, including disseminating marketing, engaging with potential participants, runningevents/drop-ins, and working with partners in engaging target cohorts.

You will proactively pursue and maintain working relations with several external agencies to maximise project throughput and ensure high levels of customer service are maintained through follow up contact with clients and other involved parties.

We are specifically looking for Outreach Workers to be in Oldham / Trafford / Tameside / Stockport

**This will include**:

- face-to-face participant engagement at local events/networks), acting as an ambassadors to increase engagement, particularly targeting remote areas/areas with high NEETs
- assess the appropriate level of support required for their journey towards education, training and/or employment.
- manage a caseload of participants engaged on the programme, providing information, advice and signposting.
- Support and move participants towards education, training and employment in line with the delivery model
- Adopt a well being-first approach, providing access to well being/ mental health support, boosting participants resilience, confidence and motivation, referring into local/specialist services and Be Mindful app.
- Promote the initiative to internal and external customers

**Ideally, you will have local knowledge of the Greater Manchester area combined with**:

- Community engagement and outreach experience
- Clear written communications; strong administration and excellent IT skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others
- Experience of planning and scheduling work
- Ability to build rapport with participants and to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to make and maintain excellent professional relationships
- High level of attention to detail along with the ability to organise workload and prioritise to meet deadlines.
