Job Title: Interim Finance Coordinator

About the Role:
The De Beers Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the on-time reporting of high-quality financial data. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing direction and oversight to the financial reporting team, ensuring accurate and reliable financial information is presented to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and oversight to the financial reporting team, ensuring accurate and reliable financial information is presented to senior management.
  • Ensure the on-time reporting of high-quality financial data, including consolidated financial statements and notes.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting, ensuring best practices are adopted and maintained.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient running of interim and year-end audits.
  • Manage the Anglo American Financial Reporting relationship, coordinating responses to queries and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Support the Group Financial Reporting Manager and Group Financial Controller with ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required.
  • Directly oversee the work of the Financial Reporting Accountants, ensuring work direction, review, and timely feedback.

Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level with relevant accounting qualification (e.g., qualified chartered accountant).
  • Experience with group interim and year-end reporting, including coordinating deliverables from component teams and review/preparation of financial statements/stat notes.
  • Experience with analysis and preparation of technical accounting memos.
  • Experience in using Hyperion Financial Management and Financial Data Quality Management would be advantageous.
  • Understands and applies relevant accounting principles, IFRS, policies, and processes.
  • Understands the principles of effective financial systems.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of project management tools and their application.
